About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work in a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit supporting ED boarder patients. This is a flexible inpatient unit with fluctuating patient volume depending on hospital demand.
Requirements
- Active RN license (New York or eligible)
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Tele acute care experience
- Competency in IV placement and phlebotomy required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Tele overflow setting
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy (mandatory competency)
- Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support
- Manage peripheral IV lines and related care
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Maintain isolation precautions and infection control standards
- Assist with patient flow in a high-acuity environment
- Document care accurately in EPIC system
- Float to similar units as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
