About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Mother/Baby unit is responsible for providing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. The role includes handling both mothers and their newborns, ensuring a safe recovery and transition during the immediate period following birth.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in labor and delivery.
- BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring (AWHONN or Relia module) certifications.
- Experience with HUGS Security system and Pyxis.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as EPIC Stork and GE Centricity.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cervical exams and manage antepartum and labor phases.
- Perform epidurals, fetal monitoring, and administer IVs and Pitocin.
- Provide post-partum care, including breastfeeding support.
- Handle couplet care once mother and baby are stable.
