Registered Nurse - MICU - Part Time - Night Shift
About The Position
CoxHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at CoxHealth South. This is a part-time position with a night shift schedule. The MICU team provides exceptional care to critically ill patients, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and offers opportunities for professional growth through in-hospital credentialing classes and a pay-it-forward program for certification exams. Nurses can also participate in a clinical ladder program for a potential bonus of up to $5,000 annually. Additional compensation includes $1.00 for certification pay and $1.00 for BSN pay.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- RN license active in the state of Missouri
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Previous nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment.
- Assess the patient’s condition.
- Perform diagnostic tests.
- Begin treatments.
- Assist doctors with any required medical procedures.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment.
- Interpret and record electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
