About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at CoxHealth South. This part-time, day shift position involves providing direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. The role requires assessing patient conditions, performing diagnostic tests, initiating treatments, and assisting physicians with medical procedures. The nurse will monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording data from electronic displays such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through in-hospital credentialing classes, a pay-it-forward program for certification exams, and a clinical ladder program that can provide bonuses up to $5,000 annually. Additional pay is provided for certifications and BSN.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
RN license active in the state of Missouri
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Previous nursing experience
