About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at CoxHealth South. This is a full-time night shift position. The critical care nurse provides direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. They assess patient conditions, perform diagnostic tests, initiate treatments, and assist physicians with medical procedures. The role involves monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings. The unit offers opportunities for professional growth through credentialing classes, a pay-it-forward program for certification exams, and a clinical ladder program that can provide bonuses up to $5,000 annually. Additional pay is provided for certification ($1.00) and BSN ($1.00).

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
RN license active in the state of Missouri.
BLS must be obtained within 90 days.
ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate effective leadership abilities.
Exhibits valuable time management skills.
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Previous nursing experience.
