Registered Nurse - MICU - Full Time - Night Shift
About The Position
CoxHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at CoxHealth South. This is a full-time night shift position. The critical care nurse provides direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, performing diagnostic tests, initiating treatments, and assisting physicians with medical procedures. The nurse will monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings. The role offers opportunities for professional growth through in-hospital credentialing classes, a pay-it-forward program for certification exams, and a clinical ladder program that can provide an annual bonus of up to $5,000. Additional compensation includes $1.00 for certification pay and $1.00 for BSN pay.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
- RN license active in the state of Missouri.
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days.
- ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities.
- Exhibits valuable time management skills.
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Previous nursing experience.
