About The Position
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Telemetry Unit. This is a full-time, day shift position. The role involves educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care. The nurse will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, the nurse will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Sentara offers a unique 6-month Transition to Practice Program for RNs with less than 12 months of experience or those transitioning to a new practice area, which includes general nursing orientation, a specialty clinical track, residency, professional development sessions, and mentoring with unit-based preceptors. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice and professional performance encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
