About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Our 18-bed Medical-Surgical unit cares for a diverse adult patient population, offering nurses the opportunity to build a strong and well-rounded clinical skill set. Nurses care for patients with pulmonary, cardiac, telemetry, and complex medical conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, renal disease, diabetes complications, and other acute illnesses. This unit provides valuable experience in telemetry monitoring, respiratory care, complex medication management, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, making it an excellent environment for both professional growth and development.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
