About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This is a full-time, 36 hours/week, 12-hour shift, rotating post-operative medical-surgical RN position on Johnson 2, a 30-bed surgical adult unit. The average length of stay on J2 is 3.4 days with an average daily census of 22 patients. The majority of admissions to J2 are from the postoperative anesthesia care unit (PACU), followed by admissions from the emergency department who have an orthopedic, surgical or gastrointestinal diagnosis. There are 12 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms that accommodate two patients each. J2 generally accepts patients 18 years of age and older with surgical conditions, ranging in age from young adult to geriatric. Patients are generally admitted to the surgical service, or to a hospitalist with the surgeon as consultant.

MA RN Required
BLS(AHA) required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Current experience on a post-operative medical surgical unit preferred

Responsibilities

Provide care for patients on a 30-bed surgical adult unit.
Manage patients with orthopedic, surgical, or gastrointestinal diagnoses.
Care for patients ranging in age from young adult to geriatric.
Admit patients to the surgical service or to a hospitalist with the surgeon as consultant.
