Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Post Op 36 hours, rotating shifts
About The Position
Johnson 2 is a 30-bed surgical adult unit with an average length of stay of 3.4 days and an average daily census of 22 patients. Admissions primarily come from the postoperative anesthesia care unit (PACU) and the emergency department, typically with orthopedic, surgical, or gastrointestinal diagnoses. The unit features 12 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms. The patient population generally includes individuals 18 years of age and older with surgical conditions, ranging from young adult to geriatric, who are admitted to the surgical service or to a hospitalist with a surgeon as a consultant. This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Inpatient Team.
Requirements
- MA RN Required
- BLS(AHA) required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Current experience on a post-operative medical surgical unit preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete assessments, administer medications/treatments, observe patients' progress, and evaluate therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness
- Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each patient
- Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes
