About The Position

Johnson 3 is an exciting 32-bed medical telemetry unit that uses evidence-based practice to compassionately and expertly care for patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections including sepsis. It is the designated stroke unit, offering opportunities for growing bedside neurological assessment skills. The staff employs a comprehensive team approach, fostering a positive work environment. Services include patient education (diabetes teaching, congestive heart failure checklists), continuing care for acute blood clots, respiratory care, comprehensive stroke care, and discharge planning instructions. A new telemetry monitoring system allows staff to assess and treat cardiac arrhythmias. Johnson 3 generally accepts patients 18 years of age or older with stable cardiac and medical conditions.

Requirements

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Basic Life Support AHA(BLS) required
Basic telemetry experience or successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Care of the telemetry patient required within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

Complete assessments, administer medications, wound treatments, observes patient’s progress and evaluates therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness
Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each individual patient
Support and educate patients and their loves ones to achieve maximum outcomes
