About The Position

Johnson 3 is an exciting 32-bed medical telemetry unit specializing in the compassionate and expert care of patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections including sepsis. It is the designated stroke unit, offering opportunities to grow bedside neurological assessment skills. The staff utilizes a comprehensive team approach, fostering a positive work environment. Services include patient education on diabetes and congestive heart failure, continuing care for acute blood clots, respiratory care, comprehensive stroke care, and discharge planning. A new telemetry monitoring system allows for careful assessment and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Johnson 3 generally accepts patients aged 18 years or older with stable cardiac and medical conditions. Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required
- Basic telemetry experience or successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Care of the telemetry patient required within 6 months of hire

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete assessments
- Administer medications
- Perform wound treatments
- Observe patient’s progress and evaluate therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness
- Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each individual patient
