About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment in Springfield, VT. This is an adaptive acuity unit, and travelers may be asked to provide PCU care (3:1 ratio), which is non-negotiable. Charge nurse experience is required for this position. All requested time off must be noted and verified at upload; requests after upload or during the interview will not be approved. No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted, and less is preferred. Travelers without charge experience or who are unwilling to work charge will not be considered. All RTO must be included in the profile, and all scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission. The facility will not approve scheduling requests at or after the time of offer/interview. Please obtain this information prior to submittal, as requests after the offer may lead to a rescinded offer.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of current med surg/tele experience
  • Charge experience
  • Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience
  • DRIP EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
  • ICU experience
  • Willing to float to any inpatient unit within their scope of practice
  • MINIMUM 3 months' previous travel experience - NON-NEGOTIABLE
  • Experience with Insulin drips, emolol drips and sodium drips
  • Must have and maintain current Active American Heart Association ACLS
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association during employment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

  • Using electrocardiogram (EKG) machines to continuously track heart performance
  • Analyzing EKG results to establish baselines and spot abnormalities
  • Recording EKG results to keep patient information accurate
  • Overseeing stress tests to assess patients’ heart function
  • Delivering emergency medical care when patients suffer heart attacks or other life-threatening problems
  • Overseeing and coordinating the activities of telemetry technicians and other staff in their units
  • Administering medications and other treatments ordered by physicians
  • Educating patients on lifestyle changes and ongoing treatments prior to discharge from the hospital
