This role provides for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and adheres to the mission statement. It involves the organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care with ancillary services. Key responsibilities include involving patients and their significant others/families in developing individualized care plans, educating patients/SO/families about their disease process and plan of care, and serving as a patient advocate. The nurse is responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment for any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical conditions and minor injuries or illnesses.
