About The Position
The Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the correctional clinic. This role involves supervising all nursing staff, providing direct patient care, and ensuring appropriate healthcare for all patients. The position also includes overseeing healthcare provided in facility general population and segregation units, encompassing both medical and mental health treatment. Requirements
- Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
- Two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 or one year equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12 or a Registered Nurse Manager 12
- Possession of a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing
- All required documents must be attached and submitted at the time of application for further consideration
- Applications must be submitted through NEOGOV to be considered
- Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment with the Department of Corrections until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation
- New hires will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET)
Nice To Haves
- Possession of a master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11
