About The Position

The Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the correctional clinic. This role involves supervising all nursing staff, providing direct patient care, and ensuring appropriate healthcare for all patients. The position also includes overseeing healthcare for both general population and segregation units, encompassing medical and mental health treatment.

Requirements

• Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• Two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 or one year equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12 or a Registered Nurse Manager 12.
• Possession of a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11
• Possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day to day operations of the correctional clinic
• Supervising all nursing staff to include Registered Professional Nurses
• Providing direct patient care
• Assuring that all patients receive appropriate health care
• Oversees health care provided in facility general population/segregation unit to include medical and mental health treatment
