About The Position

At Easterseals DC MD VA, we help older adults and adults with disabilities remain healthy, engaged, and connected to their communities. Our Adult Day Services (ADS) program provides medical support, wellness services, and social engagement that improve quality of life while also supporting the caregivers of our participants. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Nurse Manager for the Hagerstown Adult Day Services Center. Requirements

  • Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Experience coordinating care, mentoring staff, or serving as a clinical resource.
  • Experience working with seniors and/or adults with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a similar setting preferred, such as: adult day services, rehabilitation, community-based care, long-term care, or geriatric services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all health-related services for Adult Day Services participants
  • Advise the Director as needed to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Monitor participant health status and respond to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and Maryland regulations.
  • Monitor medication safety and storage.
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and train other employees on appropriate care.
  • Maintain accurate participant health records and clinical documentation.
  • Ensuring assessments and reassessments are completed timely.
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor, and update individualized care plans.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance program, monitoring and evaluating the program in relation to licensing requirements.
  • Develop and update health-related policies and procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate services with physicians, therapists, specialists, and community partners as applicable.
  • Communicate regularly with participants, families, and caregivers regarding health-related needs.
  • Conduct staff training related to health, aging, infection control, and participant care.
  • Provide coaching and support to team members.
  • Supervise other staff including a CNA and a Health Technician.
  • Assume the lead in emergency response, initiating CPR and first aid measures as warranted.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
