About The Position
MedStaffers, LLC is hiring a Registered Nurse Manager for its Altoona, Blair County office. The RN Manager is responsible for the growth and success of the office, overseeing skilled home health cases, conducting regular client visits for intakes and recertifications, and hiring appropriate field staff. The position requires familiarity with Pennsylvania Department of Health Chapter 601 and Chapter 51 regulations. Moderate to heavy travel is expected at times.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
- CPR certification.
- One year of experience with home health or private duty assessments.
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Pennsylvania Criminal and Child Abuse Background checks.
Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate referrals for home care and home health cases.
- Conduct client intakes, including gathering background information, diagnoses, and services required for care.
- Complete 90-day recertifications for skilled care.
- Communicate with physicians to review orders and report concerns.
- Supervise nursing staff and complete competency checks.
- Identify and verify insurance coverage and obtain authorization to provide client care.
- Direct licensed and unlicensed staff in following client plans of care and provide required training.
- Participate in case conferences and PAC meetings.
- Manage all skilled home health cases.
- Conduct quarterly record reviews and communicate findings and recommendations to the assigned Regional Executive Director.
- Assist with screening and interviewing candidates and make employment recommendations.
- Assist with orienting new staff members.
- Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating continuing education programs.
- Assist with formulating, revising, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures, strategic goals, and objectives.
- Comply with professional standards and principles.
- Participate in public relations and community activities that promote MedStaffers' role in the health care delivery system.
- Provide clinical guidance and resources to employees and clients.
