About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Manager in the Labor and Delivery department at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS. The manager will lead and empower unit staff, optimize patient care delivery, establish modern care standards, and manage unit operations and fiscal health. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in L&D
• Minimum 1 year of formal experience in an RN leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager).

Responsibilities

• Drive the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of the nursing team to build a high-performing, compassionate care environment.
• Resolve operational bottlenecks and streamline workflow to ensure safe, seamless, and high-quality experiences for mothers and newborns.
• Develop and update evidence-based unit policies and procedures to elevate nursing practices and maintain strict regulatory compliance.
• Oversee daily activities and direct budget expenditures to ensure the team has the essential resources and staffing required for optimal care.
