About The Position

Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a 26-week travel contract at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. The assignment is scheduled to start November 30, 2026. The position works nights, four 12-hour shifts per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, for 48 hours per week. Estimated weekly pay is $3,431. The nurse will provide Labor and Delivery care, including high-risk care, fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and circulating and recovering C-sections. The role may also involve floating to Mother/Baby care. The nurse may be required to care for patients with COVID and to work as part of a Storm Team or Hurricane Team, including reporting during catastrophic events, mass-casualty incidents, or disasters. Consolidation to a centralized office may occur during the contract.

Requirements

At least 2 years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience.
BLS certification.
NRP certification.
AWHONN Intermediate certification.
Ability to circulate and recover C-sections; required.
Ability to work 48 hours per week on a night schedule of four 12-hour shifts.
Availability to work every third weekend.

Nice To Haves

ACLS certification.
Epic documentation experience.

Responsibilities

Provide Labor and Delivery nursing care, including high-risk care.
Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
Perform external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration.
Administer blood and blood products and start and maintain IVs.
Circulate and recover C-sections.
Float to Mother/Baby care as required.
Follow isolation precautions and use PPE; administer vaccines as needed.
Work every third weekend.
Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments and report during catastrophic events, mass-casualty incidents, or disasters when required.
