About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery while ensuring exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will be confident managing routine and high-risk obstetrical patients and capable of responding effectively to emergency situations.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
Current BLS Certification.
Strong maternal-fetal assessment skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong documentation and EMR proficiency.

Nice To Haves

ACLS Certification.
NRP Certification.
High-acuity Labor & Delivery experience.
Previous travel nursing experience.
Experience managing obstetrical emergencies.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care throughout all stages of labor and delivery.
Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate patterns.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
Assist physicians and OB providers during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and pain management interventions as ordered.
Respond to obstetrical emergencies including fetal distress, hemorrhage, and maternal complications.
Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately within the EMR.
Collaborate with OB physicians, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary staff.
Support breastfeeding initiation, bonding, and postpartum recovery.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety standards, and clinical protocols.
