About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional maternal and newborn care in a critical access hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong obstetrical nursing skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in high-acuity situations while supporting patients and families throughout the childbirth experience.

Requirements

• Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification.
• Current NRP Certification.
• Strong maternal-fetal assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced obstetrical environment.

Nice To Haves

• Rural or Critical Access Hospital experience.
• Experience with high-risk obstetric patients.
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Assist physicians and providers during labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments.
• Provide postpartum care and newborn support.
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to obstetrical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and nursing standards.
