About The Position

UW Medical Center - Montlake is seeking an Experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join their nationally recognized team. This role involves providing exceptional care to mothers, babies, and families at a leading quaternary care center. The position offers the opportunity to work with highly specialized multidisciplinary teams, including Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists and the Seattle Children's Hospital Fetal Program, caring for some of the region's most medically complex pregnancies. The unit handles approximately 180 deliveries per month, with nearly 70% of obstetric patients being high-risk. The unit is state-of-the-art, featuring 14 Antepartum Rooms, 9 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) Rooms, 6 Critical Care OB Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Bays, and 2 Triage Rooms. Staffing is aligned with AWHONN standards to support quality patient care and nurse well-being. This position is a Labor & Delivery nursing role at UW Medical Center and includes practice at both UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital as part of the UW Medical Center–Seattle Children's Fetal Intervention Program. Responsibilities within the fetal program include admitting patients for scheduled fetal procedures and surgeries, providing intra-procedural nursing support, recovering patients post-procedure, and delivering patient education and discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Two years or more years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or eligible through the Multistate Licensure (MSL) Compact.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where permitted, except when licensure, certification, or registration requirements apply.

Responsibilities

  • Admit patients for scheduled fetal procedures and fetal surgeries.
  • Provide intra-procedural nursing support during fetal interventions and surgeries as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Recover patients following procedures, including monitoring maternal and fetal status and delivering post-anesthesia and post-procedure care.
  • Deliver patient education, discharge planning, and ongoing post-procedure nursing care in collaboration with the fetal intervention team.
