About The Position
The Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum position is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, with shifts from 1900 to 0730 and a weekend rotation. This role involves floating to Post-Partum Evanston Hospital as needed. The nurse will independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Responsibilities include guiding assistive personnel, collaborating with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes, and contributing to safety and quality patient experiences.
Requirements
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required
- BSN strongly preferred
- BLS/CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider required (American Heart Association)
- Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
- 1 year of acute care nursing experience or 1 year labor and delivery/post-partum experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in the Pediatric Unit
- Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
- Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
- Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
