About The Position

The Clinical Nurse I, II, and III jobs integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. These roles assist the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. They provide direction, education, and begin to acquire leadership skills at the unit level. The roles deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. They also safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. The Clinical Nurse II and III roles demonstrate a mastery of clinical skills and begin to apply this knowledge to a specific patient population, recognizing and intervening appropriately in changing patient situations. Clinical Nurse III anticipates changes and serves as a role model. All clinical nurses organize work and delegate and supervise others in carrying out assignments. Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays, with schedules subject to adjustment as needed.
