About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit for an exciting Travel or Local job in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This role involves providing close monitoring and frequent assessments for high-acuity ICU patients, administering medications, and managing complex treatment plans. The nurse will advocate for patients and families, educate them on care plans, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. The position is in a 10-bed ICU with telemetry monitoring, requiring accurate clinical documentation and support for continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring patient safety and adherence to ICU protocols, as well as responding to changes in patient condition with critical thinking, are key aspects of this role.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (ER, ICU, or CVICU) OR 2 years PCU/IMCU experience
- Active Florida RN license or Compact License (FL required within 60 days)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 90 days
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Provide close monitoring and frequent assessments for high-acuity ICU patients
- Administer medications and manage complex treatment plans
- Advocate for patients and families while ensuring privacy and dignity
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and recovery instructions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Deliver critical care in a 10-bed ICU with telemetry monitoring
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the unit
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to ICU protocols
- Respond to changes in patient condition with critical thinking
