Requirements

• Three years of professional nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; or One year of professional nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
• Medical examination and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assess staff needs; assist in preparing lesson plans and resource material for in-service education; share relevant knowledge gained at out-service seminars and workshops
• Teach classes to all levels of nursing personnel on nursing practices, resident care, safety, documentation, and other core, new, and diverse topics
• Review training effectiveness by observing staff performance and maintaining records
• Develop and provide programs to guide new personnel through center policies, procedures, layout, and expectations
• Coordinate, administer, and evaluate the Center’s Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) in compliance with current standards
• Chair, serve on, and collaborate with various committees to assess and implement procedural updates, monitor programs, and coordinate training
