About The Position

The Registered Nurse Supervisor position with the Department of Human Services offers an opportunity to lead care practices that support the well-being of every resident at South Mountain Restoration Center. This position provides supervision, guidance, and daily oversight to nursing staff to ensure that resident care meets all standards of practice. Requirements

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Direct professional and nonprofessional nursing personnel in daily care activities
• Review resident treatment needs and act as an advocate for safe, effective care
• Maintain documentation, review assessments, and prepare required reports
• Provide clear communication to residents, families, and staff members
• Offer education, orientation, and mentoring to nursing staff
• Address medical emergencies and monitor resident condition changes
