About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The position is in the Bronchoscopy & PICC cost center at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). The scheduled work hours are 7:00–4:30, Monday through Friday, with a day shift and 20 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

• At least one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), through an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Ability to perform the listed physical and mental job requirements, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying specified weights, fine and gross motor activities, and dealing effectively with stressful situations.
• Ability to work overtime as required and rotating shifts, as indicated in the physical and mental requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
