Registered Nurse II - CTICU
About The Position
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. This position is in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). The schedule is 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour rotating shifts, including some weekends. The role requires the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Requirements
- At least one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or an AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
- For RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, an associate or diploma degree in nursing requires enrollment in an accredited BSN program within two years and successful completion of a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Ability to perform the listed physical and sensory functions of the job, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and working in a latex-safe environment.
Nice To Haves
