About The Position
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, applying the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. This position is with the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) in Labor and Delivery. The role is scheduled for 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including every other weekend. A $30,000 sign-on bonus is offered to experienced new hires.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or an AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Ability to perform the physical and mental functions described in the job posting, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and working effectively in stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for most nursing areas within the hospital.
