RN - Labor & Delivery- Northeast- Nights
About The Position
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed care to patients and families at the competent level, applying the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and collaborates with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The role is in Labor and Delivery at Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). The schedule is 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. The posting includes a $30,000 sign-on bonus for experienced new hires.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or an AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Ability to perform the physical and sensory functions described in the posting, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for most nursing areas within the hospital.
