About The Position

This travel, temporary assignment places you in an inpatient, high-acuity care environment where you will deliver coordinated nursing care to a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards and the nursing process. You will supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff and coordinate care with other disciplines, applying critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.

Requirements

  • Active registered nursing license (California) in good standing.
  • ICU/critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; reliable, schedule-flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in an ICU/critical care environment using the nursing process and established standards of care.
  • Assess patient status, implement care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and document changes.
  • Coordinate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to modify care plans as needed.
  • Supervise and direct activities of newly assigned nursing staff and assist in prioritizing care for a patient or patient group.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; exercise clinical judgment and professional discretion in high-stakes situations.
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards, quality measures, and evidence-based practices.
