About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards. In this critical care environment, the RN manages complex patient conditions, monitors changes in patient status, and supports rapid clinical decision-making to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma/Certificate Program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida or eligible Compact State licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Strong critical care nursing knowledge and clinical judgment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage complex patient care needs
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring and assessment techniques
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Basic computer and electronic medical record proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate approach to caring for critically ill patients and supporting their families

Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify, and prioritize patient and family care needs.
  • Develop, communicate, and coordinate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Safely administer medications, treatments, and advanced nursing interventions.
  • Continuously assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition.
  • Communicate significant clinical findings and concerns to appropriate care team members to support timely decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, identification protocols, and risk-reduction practices.
  • Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families during hospitalization.
  • Foster positive working relationships and contribute to departmental and organizational goals.
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, competencies, and continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based nursing practice initiatives.
