About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) working the night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The role involves serving as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions using computerized documentation systems, performing various patient tests, and administering medications within the scope of practice. The nurse will also assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team and educate patients and families on their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
License to practice professional nursing in the state of Kentucky.
Current BCLS and ACLS upon hire.
Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse (RN).
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Teach patients and families to understand conditions, medications and self-care skills.
