Registered Nurse I (Fall 2026 New Grad Blitz) - Main Acute Care, Family Medicine, and Burn Stepdown
About The Position
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. This posting is for opportunities in Main Acute Care, Family Medicine, and Burn Stepdown units. The units include 7A Family Medicine (18-bed Medical Surgical Unit), 7B Medical Acute Care (18-bed unit specializing in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine patients), 7East Medical Acute Care Unit (26-bed inpatient Medical-Surgical Unit, designated research floor), 5W Burn Trauma Stepdown Unit (25 Bed Stepdown Unit, only Burn Stepdown unit in the state), 9 Center (nine-bed ER overflow, Admission and Holding unit), 8D EH Medical Acute Care (13-bed inpatient adult acute med-surg unit), and Complex Intervention Unit (CIU) (18-bed adult inpatient unit integrating medical and psychiatric care).
Requirements
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

- Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous)
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous)
- Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous)
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. (Continuous)
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment. (Continuous)
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Continuous)
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. (Continuous)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
