The House Supervisor (RN) is responsible for the flow of patients throughout the building, from ED to inpatient and from inpatient to discharge. They are often responsible for conflict management, service recovery, and critical thinking in difficult times. Every day is different, with standard responsibilities such as flow, responding to codes, and some audits, but the day is filled with handling whatever issues arise in the moment. They are a leader in the building, whether it's during night shift and/or weekends, and as such are called upon to handle difficult situations.
