The Registered Nurse (RN) in the hemophilia treatment center is responsible for coordinating care for patients with bleeding disorders, including annual, semi-annual, episodic, and emergency care. This involves maintaining bleeding action plans, monitoring lab work and medications, completing new patient intakes, conducting lifespan monitoring, and serving as a central point of contact. The RN will also provide patient education, hospital discharge teaching, and community outreach. The role supports professional nursing practice, patient/family education, and transitions of care, functioning within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN provides leadership through preceptor roles, informal/formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts, and delegates patient care appropriately. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, with opportunities to participate in committees and projects. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
