About The Position

AMI is seeking a full time, experienced Registered Nurse to join the General Radiology team in the Toms River office location on Hooper Avenue. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the State of New Jersey
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS & ACLS certifications are required prior to the start of employment.
  • At least three (3) years of professional clinical RN experience.
  • Strong IV skills and techniques
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of medications to include potential contraindications and side effects.
  • Experience in identifying and understanding cardiac rhythms
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience
  • Able to identify, react, and respond quickly to emergent patient situations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assists the entire outpatient radiology team and multiple modalities in providing patient care throughout a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Obtains IV access.
  • Administers medications to aid with the examination.
  • Completes cardiac assessments on patients for scheduled examinations; including identifying EKG rhythm strips, obtaining cardiac history, and assessment of medical history and prescribed medications.
  • Responsible for monitoring and identifying any cardiac changes that occur during patients’ scheduled examination appointment, and communicating any changes to the physician as necessary.
  • Depending on office location, may be responsible for scheduling biopsies, assisting Radiologists during procedures, and pathology management.
  • Performs office related tasks and projects to ensure the efficient, orderly and timely delivery of patient care.
  • Ensures communication of patient status and results is provided to all involved members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates appropriate level of empathy, understanding and interest in the needs of all patients referred to AMI.
  • Functions as a patient advocate and radiologist liaison.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
