About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool at Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, which includes assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. Texas Health Southwest is a 261-bed, full-service hospital serving the southwest Fort Worth area, specializing in surgical services, orthopedics, rehabilitation, imaging, and adult critical care, with a 24-hour emergency department. It holds certifications as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, and Level III Neonatal Center, and is nationally accredited for Breast care and Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Texas Health Southwest has earned Magnet designation, a CMS 5-Star rating, recognition as a top hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and multiple STEMI/NSTEMI care awards.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing Required
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program Required
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support - within 90 days of hire Required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire Required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support – required for ED Neighborhood within 90 days of hire Required
  • NIHSS - required for ICU/PCU Neighborhood 6 Months Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN Preferred
  • Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience Preferred
  • Intermediate Care experience Preferred
