About The Position

Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

The nurse may participate as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in planning and implementing patient care. The role also directs and assists with safe aseptic techniques and procedures, provides leadership and direction to departmental support staff, and accepts scheduling or placement designations determined before hire. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Louisiana State RN License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS provider certification required within 30 days of employment.
• SAMA required.

Nice To Haves

• PALS certification preferred.
