About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to support patients’ comfort and well-being. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes patients and maintains records of their care, condition, reactions, and progress.

The nurse may participate as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in planning and implementing patient care. The role includes directing and assisting with safe aseptic techniques and procedures, and providing leadership and direction to departmental support staff. The position requires acceptance of scheduling and placement designations determined before hire. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Louisiana State RN License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS provider certification required within 30 days of employment.
• SAMA required.

Nice To Haves

• PALS certification preferred.
