About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED RN) is responsible for performing rapid, thorough clinical assessments to determine patient acuity and prioritize care. This role involves administering medications, starting IVs, performing advanced medical procedures, and responding quickly to rapidly changing patient conditions. The ED RN collaborates with board-certified emergency physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement personalized care plans. Additionally, the nurse will support patients and their families during highly stressful, urgent situations, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety, while accurately maintaining electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN).
• Valid RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or a valid multistate compact license).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC required within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1-2 years of hospital-based RN or acute care experience preferred.
• Previous ED experience highly valued.
