About The Position

Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Emergency Department team. This role is ideal for someone seeking a fast-paced, team-centered environment with daily challenges and meaningful impact. The Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department is a licensed extension of Sentara Obici Hospital, operating 24/7 and equipped with 22 treatment spaces, including fast track, 10 focused care, and 12 high acuity care rooms. Nurses are trained to care for both adult and pediatric patients. The department offers strong clinical leadership, advanced technology, and a collaborative environment. It is a storke ready center.

Requirements

  • Registered nursing License (required)
  • ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
  • PALS required prior to completion of orientation
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (preferred)
  • 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (preferred)
  • Critical care experience in hospital (preferred)
  • 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse Experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Adhere to the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
