About The Position

This Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Dallas requires a compassionate and skilled individual to provide high-quality patient care. The role involves responding to patients' basic human needs, including safety, physical, psychological, and social needs, while honoring their worth through unconditional acceptance and demonstrating knowledge of patient rights. The nurse will engage families and caregivers in healthcare situations, practice mutual problem-solving with patients and families to help them understand and confront their health and illness, and collaborate with families, physicians, and peers. Texas Health Dallas is a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital with over 50 years of experience, specializing in various areas including emergency medicine. The department is fast-paced and high-volume, averaging 200 patients per day, and offers self-scheduling for work-life balance, educational and career growth opportunities, and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma in Nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred
RN – Registered upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training annually within 90 days required
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months required or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse within 6 months required
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred
