About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health HEB will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. Texas Health HEB is a 322-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving its community since 1973, specializing in various services including emergency medicine. It is ANCC Magnet Designated, Joint Commission-certified, a Primary Stroke Center, a Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU, and Level III for maternal care.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • 1 year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
  • NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification within 90 days of hire
  • ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 12 months required
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 12 months required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • ED experience strongly preferred
