Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (Ed)
About The Position
The RN Weekend program was implemented to allow flexible scheduling to help support staffing to care for patients and balance the professional nurse's life. The weekend begins on Friday at 7:00 P.M, and ends on Monday 7:00 A.M., for full-time weekend program employees scheduled for two twelve (12) hour shifts each weekend. Full-time weekend employees will earn a premium rate when working weekend shifts. A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. He/she acts as a liaison between physicians, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care members. He/she assists in the orientation process of new personnel, and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure by Ohio State Board of Nursing
- Previous experience in specific nursing area is required
- CPR/BLS certification required
- PALS required in Emergency Services
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred
- ACLS certification for Critical Care and Emergency Services required (if applicable)
