About The Position

WI Float Pool is a multi‑site resource team supporting Emergency Department (ED) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high‑quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day-to-day floating or 6-week site rotations. It provides a fresh, dynamic work environment with exposure to various departments and patient populations, which helps prevent routine fatigue and keeps work exciting. It is also a career-building experience, demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. The position offers competitive compensation, including base pay, float differentials, shift and weekend premiums, and benefits and flexibility such as flexible self-scheduling, no on-call requirements, and only two holidays per year. The specific assignments are based on site needs within the Wisconsin division.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required
  • ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years ED RN Experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence‑based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute‑care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute‑care facilities within the designated zone
