About The Position

The WI Float Pool is a multi-site resource team supporting Emergency Department (ED) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day-to-day floating or 6-week site rotations. It provides a fresh, dynamic work environment with exposure to various departments and patient populations, helping to prevent routine fatigue and keep work exciting. It also offers career-building experience by demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. The position is part of a team supporting multiple Aurora Health acute-care facilities within the Wisconsin division, with specific assignments based on site needs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
  • 1 Weekend Shift per 2 schedule period
  • 1 Holiday per year

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly Prefer 2 years ED RN Experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute-care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute-care facilities within the designated zone
