About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Director of Critical Care Services at Ascension Providence in Waco, TX. The position is full-time, primarily on days, with the expectation of availability across all shifts. The Director will drive improvements in employee engagement and team culture through transformational leadership. They will manage operations for 4 ICU units totaling 120 beds and a head-count of 220. Responsibilities include direct supervision and development of a leadership team of 4 managers and 1 assistant manager. The role also focuses on driving measurable improvements in key departmental metrics such as turnover rates, quality outcomes, and financial performance, and partnering effectively with key internal stakeholders to navigate complex departmental dynamics.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
  • 5 years of experience required.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Critical Care, specifically within an ICU setting
  • Proven history of progressive leadership over at least 3 years in a Manager or Director capacity

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Possession of or nearing the completion of an MSN, MHA, or MBA degree
